Kayaking Workshops - workshops now full

Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February

We're delighted to announce kayaking workshops with world-famous kayaker Corran Addison, who is also guest speaker at the paddlesports evening on Saturday 16th.

Working with small groups (max 8 people) on a local river, Corran will share his knowledge and experience on key aspects of river running. Participants must be at least competent Grade 4 paddlers with a solid roll. Depending on weather conditions and group interests and ability, the workshops may also include playboating or creeking.

We are looking for participants who are keen to access some expert tuition but happy to go with the flow to a certain extent as regards the arrangements.  We can guarantee a good day but can’t be too prescriptive right now.

The workshops will be run on rivers around Fort William.  To give you a flavour, possible venues include:

  • High water - Upper Spean
  • Medium water - Roy Gorge or Orchy
  • Low water - Etive and tribs or Spean Gorge

Participants will be expected to get to and from the chosen river for 10am with appropriate kit (including safety gear).  The aim will be to finish around 2pm.  The cost of the workshop is £30 per person.

Locations and the exact details of the workshops will be finalised by the weekend and all participants will be kept informed so they know what kit / boats to bring.
